That spider sculpture stands outside the National Gallery here in Ottawa — but that’s not tha National Gallery (or anything else recognizably Ottawish) in the background. Then I discovered there’s actually about half-a-dozen identical castings of it (it’s called Maman, by Louise Bourgeois).
