The Memes of Yesteryear

Again, it’s not saving the world, but what could make the world more worth saving than the “All Your Base Are Belong To Us” meme of twenty-aught-one, set to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”?

And — why not — a music video of the same song made from Star Trek clips, which strangely enough has only had 29,131 views since April 2006?

OK, this is where I go feel guilty that I don’t have nice, self-contained, physics-related posts for the next Philosophia Naturalis carnival. (Except maybe the shopping cart EMP.)

  1. Thanks for passing on the announcement.

By the way, I think I’ve figured out that your main page breaks on Firefox when Flash isn’t installed…. the video-less squares don’t know where to sit, so they go sit on top of text instead of where they should be.

  2. Interesting. I don’t do anything special when embedding (I just copy-and-paste the text from Google Video or wherever), so I wonder if it happens on other wobsites too. On the other hand, if the non-main pages work properly, then maybe there’s a CSS issue at work.
