Canadian journalist and cdesign proponentsist Denyse O’Leary has given us nine “predictions” supposedly derived from Intelligent Design. As a public service, I summarize for the busy reader:
One day, Intelligent Design will bring me a pony.
The best part is that the original question was if cdesign proponentsists had made any predictions which have already been confirmed by experiment.
LOL! Good one. It also happens to remind that I need to do shorters and friendly letters more often. :-)
Thanks.
I’m gonna try to balance my creationist bashing with my “positive statements,” even though the former are a whole lot quicker to write. There’s no way I can hold up my head next to the John Baezes and Jacques Distlers of the physics-blogging world, but if I’m not actually writing about my own knowledge, I’m not really making an original contribution, am I?
“I am the machine which shows you the world as I alone am able to see it,” to quote the Russian documentary filmmaker Dziga Vertov (via Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, episode 26, of course). I have to live up to my second-hand, canned profundities!
Cool.
I wanted to get my own positive contributions up over the weekend, but Sunday was a brainfart day me. I should have the post done later tonight, and I’ll either just post it or schedule it for tomorrow morning.
I’m looking forward to it.
In a fit of energy, I got the equations I’ll need for my next post worked out. The only remaining task is generating the prose which flows from each equation to the next.
Oh, and it looks like Tangled Up In Blue Guy has a follow-up, with some memorable snark.
I am not sure if the ID’ers deserve a pony, though. They haven’t done their homework.
ITYM “One day, Intelligent Design will bring me a pony, meanwhile, buy my book.” HTH, HAND.
